Six people have their consciousnesses pulled from Earth into Aevervell, a separate real world hidden from humanity behind the Veil. Their comatose bodies remain behind while they awaken in the familiar forms of characters they created and inhabited for years in an online fantasy game.Fragments of Aevervell echo the world they once explored together. As they begin to understand why, they discover that someone who crossed between the worlds centuries earlier is close to claiming control of the passage between them.
WHAT KIND OF STORY IS EVERVEIL?
EverVeil is a character-driven adult speculative fantasy exploring identity, authenticity, self-acceptance, and the relationship between the selves we create and who we truly are.Although portions of Aevervell resemble the online fantasy game the six once explored together, the story is not built around game mechanics, virtual reality systems, statistics, or progression-based fantasy conventions.Earth and Aevervell are separate, real worlds divided by the Veil. The six remain physically connected to the bodies they left behind, and injuries suffered in Aevervell carry consequences on Earth.At the centre of the story is a more personal question: what happens when the identity you created begins to reveal something true about who you have always been?
